Under the leadership of Sheriff BJ Barnes, the Guilford County Sheriff's Department covers approximately 650 square miles and has more than 480 employees divided between the Operations and Detention Bureau's. The department has three district substations to protect it's more than 440,000 residents.

Welcome to Gibsonville PD. The police department is located at 129 W. Main St. downtown. Chief Michael Woznick has fourteen officers under his command. There are two full time detectives that conduct full investigations. His department is constantly engaged in multi-county investigations with surrounding counties. There is one animal control officer who is on call around the clock. After holding a variety of ranks throughout the department for a number of years Woznick was appointed chief in 2007. He considers the entire town to be "part of his family".

The Greensboro Fire Department under the direction of Chief Johnny Teeters consists of two divisions which divide the city in half with four battalions per division. Each battalion consists of 4 to 6 stations. The Emerge Services Division includes 20 fire stations housing 20 Engine Companies. 7 Quints, 4 Battalion Chief cars and 1 Rescue Squad.
